History of the Barnburner
1997
It began in the woods full of the initial energy that represents what Montana is all about. Rustic and Rootsie would describe the gathered tents, buses and a small generator to power the barns.
1998
What an amazing atmosphere for Halloween. A fund raiser for The Wolf Keep, (a private non-profit wolf refuge started by landowner Carl) somewhere in the woods 20 miles east of Missoula in the middle of nowhere.
1999
So here it is three years into the Barnburner party, and here we are, trying to out do ourselves again. With two years of parties that the town has gone crazy about, we had to somehow come up with a plan that would blow the city away.
2000
Being a little shaken up from the year before, BarnBurner 2000 added a comfort zone in production planning by being at the Wilma Theater (the cornerstone of downtown Missoula) and Crystal Theater. It was a big decision to take it downtown.
2001
October of 2001, following September and 9/11, was a very trying time for us and all of America. People were not themselves it seemed and we had to do our best to fulfill the needs of The BarnBurner with all the life sucked out of the people.
2002
Well, it was a huge overtaking for BarnBurner 2002. Our production crew was spread out nationwide, but everyone still wanted to get involved in The Burner. It seemed that the only option we had, due to the interest, was to throw the party at multiple sites. It was nuts, but we did it.
2003
The venue Marshall Mountain was a good setting for an all night camp out crazy ho down. The heated circus tents held up and actually heated quite nicely. Sorry to the Hat Trick stage musicians who raged through some cold moments when the propane bottles froze up and cut off some heat for a bit.
2004
2004 was a great year we went all night long without any major drama always a good thing. The Elements crew had the shuttle service covered all night in the Limo thanks for that Elements.
